Screaming Eagles End Podmarkov's Streak Saturday, September 15th, 2040 Lady Luck was not on the side of Illarion Podmarkov or his teammates today at Mercer Island Grounds. Everything went the way of the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, who not only came away with the 15-4 victory over Westwood, but also held Podmarkov hitless in 3 at-bats to put an end to his 20-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Podmarkov said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." So far this year Podmarkov has hit .315 with 19 home runs, 69 RBIs and 57 runs scored. |
