Blimps Star Receives Outstanding Pitcher Award

Forest Bell of the Akron Blimps will be adding a new centerpiece to his mantel after being tabbed for the USSL Double A Outstanding Pitcher Award today.

The 23-year-old hurler started 19 games this season, tallying a 11-3 record. In 120.1 innings, Bell gave up 112 hits, struck out 119, walked 40 and held opponents to a .248 average as he posted a fine 2.32 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Milutin Panic of the Casper Ghosts finished second in voting, while Wilson Alindogan of the Akron Blimps finished third.
