Johnson Gets 5 Hits Friday, August 3rd, 2040 Even as a kid, Samual Johnson said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Hops Park today, Johnson showed how well he learned that lesson. The 22-year-old right fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Atlantic City Sonics, helping his team knock off the Yakima Hops by a score of 16-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Samual Johnson hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
