No Late-Season Magic Coming: Vermont Out of Playoffs Wednesday, September 19th, 2040 Members of the Vermont Lake Monsters sat in stunned silence in their clubhouse, adjusting to the knowledge that they had lost their chance for a playoff berth this year. "We really thought we had the team to get into the playoffs," said reliever René Fontaine. Vermont last appeared in the postseason in 2038. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 21 times in their 25-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Lake Monsters have missed the playoffs 8 times. Vermont has won the SL AAA Championship 2 times in their history. |
