Lake Monsters Abresch Gone for Year
Saturday, August 25th, 2040
The doctors have spoken and Ingo Abresch of the Vermont Lake Monsters didn't like what he heard. The 29-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Abresch sustained his season-ending injury during the Memphis Redbirds game yesterday at Monster Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Vermont medical staff reported Abresch had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.

This season-to-date, Abresch has fashioned a 5-3 mark and 4.24 ERA in 57.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .262 against him and he has logged 49 strikeouts.
