Vermont Stops Vázquez's Hit Streak Saturday, July 28th, 2040 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Roberto Vázquez as he saw his 29-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 4 at-bats at the hands of the Vermont Lake Monsters. It wasn't all bad for the 26-year-old center fielder and the Forest City Warriors however, as they defeated Vermont 6-1 at Monster Field. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Vázquez laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." In 56 games this season Vázquez has batted at a .323 pace with 80 hits and 10 home runs. |
