Bronze Sox Stop Horwedel at 27 Thursday, August 30th, 2040 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Dirk Horwedel as he saw his 27-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 3 at-bats at the hands of the Texas Bronze Sox. It wasn't all bad for the 22-year-old center fielder and the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes however, as they defeated Texas 2-1 at Crane Field. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Horwedel laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." Thus far this year Horwedel has hit .341 with 19 home runs and 73 RBIs. |
