Horwedel Hits in 20 Straight Games Saturday, August 18th, 2040 Dirk Horwedel's hitting streak is becoming the talk of Santa Barbara. The 22-year-old center fielder extended it once again today, this time bringing it to 20 games with a 2-for-4 performance against the Syracuse Starks. The Golden Cranes took the game, 6-1. "People are starting to bring it up to me when I'm around town," he said. "It's getting stressful." Dirk Horwedel doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and hit a sac fly in the 9th. Horwedel is hitting .344 this season with 15 home runs, 59 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 311 at-bats. |
