Wednesday, October 3rd, 2040
The baseball career of Seattle's Luis Vargas abruptly ended today in the game against the Long Island Lighthouse at Boeing Dome. The 30-year-old reliever sustained a severe injury throwing a pitch, suffering a damaged elbow ligament and will not play again. His doctor described the injury to reporters and said, "On a scale of one to three, it was a four. It was off the chart."
So far this year Vargas has nailed down 1 save. His won-lost record is 1-2 with a 7.12 ERA.
