Grey Wolves End Slaybaugh's Streak
Friday, July 27th, 2040
It was a doubly miserable day today for Jason Slaybaugh of the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, as he saw his 29-game hitting streak end and his team lose 3-2 to the Vancouver Grey Wolves at Great Northern Field. The 27-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 2 at-bats by the Grey Wolves.
"Anyone on a 29-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Vancouver manager David Krause said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
This season Slaybaugh is batting .341 with 15 home runs.
