Maddox Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games
Tuesday, June 26th, 2040
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Spencer Maddox did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Mango Yard today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 20-year-old third baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Kingston Mangos beat the Galesburg Guzzlers 3-0 today.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Maddox told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Kingston clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Spencer Maddox flied out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and tripled in the 7th.
For the season Maddox is currently batting .335 with 8 home runs and 26 RBIs. In 44 games he has reached base at a .397 rate and scored 33 runs to date.
