Hurdle Tames Mangos 4-0, 16 Ks Monday, September 3rd, 2040 Chicago Gold Sox starter Earl Hurdle brought his best stuff to Little Gold Sox Park today against the Kingston Mangos, striking out 16 batters in his club's 4-0 victory. In a strong performance, the 21-year-old Hurdle gave up 1 hit in his 8 innings of work and issued 5 walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my forkball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." Up to now Hurdle has compiled an ERA of 1.80 with a 5-2 mark over 10 starts.
