Season Over for Mauro Sandín in Cut Off Tuesday, August 21st, 2040 The doctors have spoken and Mauro Sandín of the Cut Off Crawdads didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Sandín sustained his season-ending injury during the Myrtle Beach Seahawks game yesterday at Seahwaks Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Cut Off medical staff reported Sandín had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months. This year Sandín has made 17 starts, thrown 82.2 innings, fanned 97 batters and walked 33. His won-lost record is 3-7 with a 4.57 ERA. |
