|
San Mateo and Philadelphia 1776 got after it at Lang Park.
The San Mateo Dirty Reds defeated the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 15-5, at Lang Park today. Leading the charge for San Mateo was center fielder Arsenio Laurel. He went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice. The 4th-place Dirty Reds improved to 41-30.
Had Laurel not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Laurel hit a grand slam. The Dirty Reds never looked back after taking the 9-5 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said San Mateo manager Dean Ashley.
