The New Orleans Voodoo went home winners at Evergreen Park, thanks in large part to starter Gary Ashley. Ashley silenced the Portland Evergreens, enabling New Orleans to grab the 3-0 win. In 7 innings, Ashley surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Grover Lowdermilk was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

Derek Corbin put New Orleans in front, 3-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Govaart van Ankeren in the top of the second. It was his 1st home run of the season.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.

The loss lowers the Portland record to 8-10.
