Pivotal Game Goes to Host White Walkers, 5-2
|
The Buffalo White Walkers moved to within one game of the Round 2042 today, downing the visiting New Orleans Voodoo at Beyond the Wall by a score of 5-2. White Walkers center fielder Tom Smythe was named player of the game after he was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. The win gives the White Walkers a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2041.
Eddie Sachs, the Buffalo first baseman, contributed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to make the score 5-0, White Walkers. For the game, Sachs was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," White Walkers manager Chris Lau said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is scheduled for Monday at The Voodoo Lounge. Slated to start are Zhao-ji Qiu for Buffalo and Markus Widner for New Orleans.
