Blimps Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The Akron Blimps moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Atlantic City Sonics at Goodyear Hanger Dome by a score of 7-1. Blimps right-hander Ismael Pérez was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Blimps a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AA Championship.

In the bottom of the third, Akron right fielder Cristo Correa Jr. had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Correa Jr. stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Akron. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Akron manager Jared Gilbert. "Our pregame was pretty good."

The next game is set to be played Tuesday, September 25th, 2040 in Atlantic City. The scheduled starters for the game are Henry Terry for Akron and Gaberiela Tatafu for Atlantic City.
