PL AA Championship Game 1 Victory for Walker and Mercer Island
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles started the PL AA Championship in style today, downing the visiting Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Mercer Island Grounds by a score of 8-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Screaming Eagles left-hander Noah Walker was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball.

Walker was effective for Mercer Island, seldom allowing the Thunder Hawks to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 103 pitches over 7 innings. He limited Ft. Polk South to just 1 run on 3 hits.

"Every team in baseball loses," Thunder Hawks manager John Anderson said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Mercer Island Grounds in Mercer Island. The scheduled starters for the game are Ralph Owens for the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and Kyung-soo Yun for the the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles.
