Road Win Lifts Alloway to 3-2 Lead in R1
The Alloway Halberds moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Forest City Warriors on the road at League Park by a score of 5-1. Halberds right-hander Ramón Flores was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Halberds a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AAA Championship.

The result might have been different for Alloway, had it not been for Juan Jimínez. The designated hitter produced a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Halberds ahead, 1-0. For the game, Jimínez had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Jimínez told the Alloway Chronicle.
