Stokes, Warriors Wallop Halberds in Game 2 of R1
With third baseman Lawrence Stokes leading the charge, the Forest City Warriors defeated the visiting Alloway Halberds, 9-2, in Game 2 of the SL AAA Championship today. Stokes went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 at League Park to help Forest City force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Donald Lund aided the Forest City cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-4 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Jack Clayton.

The next game is scheduled for Monday, September 24th, 2040 at Ballpark of Alloway. Slated to start are Odmar van Hees for the Forest City Warriors and Joe Holland for the the Alloway Halberds.
