Twinsburg Win Evens Series at 2
|
The Twinsburg Tigers and the Ballard Beavers will take the SL R Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Tigers beat the Beavers 3-2 at Field of the Sunchasers to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Twinsburg right-hander Fredrick Shive was named player of the game in the win after he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball.
Had Bill Wilson not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Wilson hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Tigers.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Shive.
Game 5 is scheduled for Friday, September 14th, 2040. The scheduled starters for the game are Bill Zimmerman for Ballard and Janghyun Han for Twinsburg.
