Beavers Escape Tigers in 10, Now Lead Series 2-1
The Ballard Beavers needed some late heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 2 today. The Beavers needed 10 innings before taking the 5-4 win against the Twinsburg Tigers in a walk-off at Field of the Sunchasers. Ballard center fielder Sergio Estrada was named player of the game after he went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. The win gives the Beavers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 SL R Championship.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Roberto Berganza came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Twinsburg pitcher Saadat Eristov, he hit a 0-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ballard on top, 5-4.

"I had a great game, I don't know how else to explain it," Estrada said with a grin. "Jupiter was aligned with Mars, I guess."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Field of the Sunchasers. Slated to start are Fredrick Shive for the Twinsburg Tigers and Larry Carver for the the Ballard Beavers.
