Crawdads Clip Blaze 5-4 in R1 Contest
|
With second baseman Júlio Sahagún leading the charge, the Cut Off Crawdads got a road win over the South Beach Blaze, 5-4, in Game 2 of the PL A Championship today. Sahagún went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs at The Ballpark on the Beach to help Cut Off force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Cut Off used the clutch hitting of Archie Pittman to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Crawdads the lead, 5-4. For the game, Pittman had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"It feels good to get this one," Sahagún told the Cut Off News.
The next game is set to be played Tuesday at Crawdads Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Jing-xiang Lingxin for the South Beach Blaze and Bhu Damocles for the the Cut Off Crawdads.
