Almost There: Seattle On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 3-2 Win
|
The Seattle Rocketeers faced a challenging opponent in Charleston Battery left-hander Hildebrand Michielsen, but did just enough to squeak out a 3-2 win in Game of the Third League Championship today. Seattle now leads - in the best-of- series. The Rocketeers won despite the Battery getting an excellent start from starter Michielsen, who allowed 2 earned runs at scattered 3 hits over 7 innings.
Lodd Felton, who finished 5th in the 3L in triples with 7 last year, aided the Seattle cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.
"It was a good win," Seattle manager Andrew Powell told BNN reporters after the game. "I told them I was proud of them. These guys are professional ballplayers, they know how to get motivated without my help."
