Home Field Advantage: Godard, Buckhead Open Silver League Championship with Win
|
The Buckhead Bowties moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Montana Pandas at 5 Paces Park by a score of 6-3. Bowties right fielder Charles Godard was named player of the game after he was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win gives the Bowties a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
The Bowties took a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Facing Montana hurler Lester Roadley with no outs, Godard hit a 2-run home run.
"It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Godard said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up."
