Thrice as Nice: Nashville Seizes - Advantage With Late Win
|
An all-important Game of the Silver League Championship went into extra innings at Nashville Stadium, with the Nashville Outlaws eventually emerging on top. Nashville has Dale Goodman to thank, after the left fielder slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2 in the 8-7 victory. The Outlaws are now one game away from the Round 2, holding a - lead in the best-of- series.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Broderick Sarcoma came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Facing Thunder Bay pitcher Jasper Kirby, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Nashville on top, 8-7.
Sarcoma called the extra-inning win a "confidence builder."
