The Panama City Piranhas have a critical edge over the D.C. Divided in the Third League Championship, thanks to the veteran arm of Juan Contreras.
Contreras, 34, put on a dominant performance at Washington Stadium today, leading the Piranhas to victory, 3-1, in a pivotal Game . Panama City is now one game away from the Menard's Third League Championship, leading the best-of- series by a margin of - . D.C. will need to win both remaining games to advance.
It could have been a different outcome for Panama City, had it not been for Chrysler Rodriguez, the 2037 Newcomer of the Year Award winner . Rodriguez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Panama City up, 2-0.
"Every team in baseball loses," Divided manager Jonathan Gerth said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
