The Cleveland Browns moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Long Island Lighthouse on the road at The Lighthouse by a score of 5-3. Browns right-hander Jay Cannon was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Browns a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Tom Camden to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Browns on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.

"I don't care a whit about getting a sweep," Cannon said. "The only part of it that matters to me is it means we've got a lot of chances to get that last win."
