Silver League Championship Game 1 Victory for Ariza and Cleveland
Facing elimination, the Cleveland Browns were looking for a savior. For today, at least, Javier Ariza delivered.

At Factory of Sadness, the 23-year old pitched a game for the ages to fend off the Long Island Lighthouse and help the Browns close their deficit in the Silver League Championship. Ariza threw a 9-inning, complete-game shutout in the 5-0 Cleveland win, striking out 7 and allowing 6 hits. The Browns how trail - in the best-of- series.

Ariza pitched a complete game for Cleveland. The 23-year-old right-hander was charged with no runs on 6 hits. He struck out 7 during his 99-pitch performance.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Cleveland manager Greg Diersing. "Our pregame was pretty good."
