Pivotal Game Goes to Host Bowties, 6-4
|
The Buckhead Bowties moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Panama City Piranhas at 5 Paces Park by a score of 6-4. Bowties right-hander Gilberto Medina was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Bowties a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Marcus Shill, who is tied for 6th in the SL in total bases with 45, chipped in for Buckhead with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
