Jost, Rainbow Mermaids Sink Mockingbirds Again in Game
|
Northern Virginia third baseman Richard Jost rose to the occasion at Magnolia Park today, earning player of the game honors after driving the Rainbow Mermaids to a crucial Game victory over the Mississippi Mockingbirds. Jost was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once as the Rainbow Mermaids took the 6-4 win to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 1.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fifth when Jost, who finished 4th in the PL in home runs with 27 last year, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Rainbow Mermaids into the lead, 4-2.
"We're happy," Jost told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
