Silver League Championship Game 1 goes to Cleveland Thanks to Lauren
|
The Cleveland Browns moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting San Mateo Dirty Reds at Factory of Sadness by a score of 5-2. Browns first baseman Lauren Hilfiker was named player of the game after he was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The win gives the Browns a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Sadatake Abe, the Cleveland right fielder, contributed a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 3-2, Browns. For the game, Abe was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs.
"We're feeling good about this," said Browns manager Greg Diersing. "We have got an advantage now and we just need to keep the pressure on."
