Houston Stakes - Series With Walk-off win
The Houston 1837 BBC and the Charleston Battery will take the Third League Championship to a decisive th game. The 1837 BBC got a dramatic walk-off victory in a must-win situation today to beat the Battery 2-1 at Houston Grounds and force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Despite being on the wrong side of the decision, Charleston right-hander Miguel Angel Martínez was named player of the game after he threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Houston pinch hitter Joey Trifone, facing Miguel Angel Martínez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the 1837 BBC the 2-1 win.

"Huge," Trifone said. "Game 5 is huge."
