The Springfield Shooters clobbered the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 12-2, at Springfield Stadium today. Springfield third baseman Dao-zi Zhan was named player of the game for his productive day. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Hunter Summers, the winner, improved to 2-7. He held the Fighting Imps to no earned runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Earning his 1st save of the year was Corey Holt.

Springfield center fielder Yosuke Daisen contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two down, he hit a cutter into center field for a bases-clearing double. It was his 29th double of the season and put the Shooters ahead, 12-2.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Springfield manager Martin Richards.

Springfield has now won 4 games in a row.
