John Birges had a good game, but he could not keep the Crescent City Krewe from falling, 5-3, to the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Field of the Krewe. The Crescent City third baseman was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. With the win, Ft. Polk South has a record of 61-36. Crescent City falls to 42-55.
Ft. Polk South used the timely hitting of Tora Tora to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder Hawks on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Tora.
