|
Getting a good performance from shortstop Sterling Massingham, the Westwood Sixshooters defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 10-3. Massingham was 3 for 4 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 times for the Sixshooters. The winner was Pjotr Melis, who threw 97 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. The 4th-place Sixshooters now have a win-loss record of 48-35.
Williamsburg, Virginia-born Christian Rose came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded and the Sixshooters trailing 2-1, he hit a grand slam home run to left to put Westwood on top.
