Thunder Hawks Go Down to Defeat, 8-5
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats handed the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks a loss at Heron Field. The final score was 8-5. Steve Murdock was named player of the game for Lake Minnetonka. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Sean Jones, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 19th save. The Love Boats are now 44-37, while the Thunder Hawks fall to 49-32.
Alfredo Garza was a prime factor in the win for the Love Boats. In the bottom of the sixth with one out, the 26-year old center fielder hit a 2-run single. He went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Murdock told the Lake Minnetonka Times.
