Fighting Imps Come Back Late to Clip Krewe
The Ithaca Fighting Imps and Crescent City Krewe lit up the scoreboard at Field of the Krewe.

Crescent City got a terrific game from first baseman Hal Phillips. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ithaca, 10-8. Phillips was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Getting the save was Jimmy Whitney, his 11th.

Ithaca relied on the hitting of Jimmy Wilcox to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 10-8. For the game, Wilcox had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Wilcox told a Ithaca Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

At 27-53, the Fighting Imps find themselves in 9th place in the Premier AA.
