Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Su-min Im, the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 5-3. Im went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Screaming Eagles. Jason Miller, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 1-0. Jacob Swanson locked down his 3rd save.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the fifth inning, when the Screaming Eagles were trailing 3-2. Rocky Moran delivered a two-out 2-run single for Mercer Island, catapulting his team into the lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Moran told the Mercer Island Observer.
The Screaming Eagles have now won 4 straight.
