Crescent City beat Ithaca on the strength of starter John Combs's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Combs, now 6-7, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Crescent City is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Crescent City took a 3-2 lead on Hal Phillips's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Phillips hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Ithaca pitcher Jesús Solís shaking his head.

"I was a little disappointed," said Ithaca manager Jeff Walsh. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
