Gourin Dazzles in Springfield Win
Springfield played host to Ft. Polk South at the friendly confines of Springfield Stadium.

Springfield starter Steve Gourin put a stranglehold on the Ft. Polk South offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Shooters to a 4-0 win. Springfield is now 33-41, while Ft. Polk South is 45-29.

Gourin, who was born in Westland, Michigan, threw 83 pitches over 7.1 innings, while allowing no earned runs.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Gourin said.
