Sixshooters Raise Rally Flag, Beat Ithaca, 1-0
|
The Westwood Sixshooters did just enough to secure a 1-0 victory over the Ithaca Fighting Imps at Sixshooters Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Rio Dring, who captured player of the game honors. José Díaz, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Westwood is 4th in the Premier AA with a record of 40-30.
Juan Carlos Vázquez was the walk-off hero for Westwood. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sixshooters pinch hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
Dring told a Westwood Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
