With designated hitter Juan Carlos Vázquez leading the charge, the Westwood Sixshooters defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 11-5, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Vázquez, who is tied for 8th in the PAA in home runs with 11, went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Westwood reliever Narihira Yokota got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Scott Richardson was tagged with the loss. The Sixshooters raised their record to 39-30.
Westwood needed the clutch hitting of Todd Pritchard to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sixshooters on top, 8-5. For the game, Pritchard had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Vázquez said.
