Fields Leads Fighting Imps to Win over Love Boats
|
Brant Fields was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats. The third baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Ithaca Fighting Imps. Glenn Underwood picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-7. He struck out 2 in 5 innings. Jimmy Whitney earned the save for Ithaca, his 8th.
Fields came through with some timely hitting for Ithaca. With the score 0-0 in the top of the third and one down, Fields hit a 2-0 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season made it 3-0, Ithaca.
"I know we have our doubters," said Lake Minnetonka manager Burton Storey. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
The Fighting Imps improve their record to 22-46 with the win over Lake Minnetonka.
