Rams Get One-Run Win at Capital Hill
|
Fans who gathered at Alouettes Ballpark saw a good contest between the Ladue Rams and Capital Hill Interns.
Capital Hill second baseman Javier García had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. García was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times, even as Ladue beat the Interns, 6-5. García was named the player of the game despite the loss. Bayani Samelo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Vladsislas Meierhold was tagged with the loss.
Ladue used the clutch hitting of Cliff Riley to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Rams the lead, 6-4. For the game, Riley had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Feels good to get the job done," Riley said after the game.
The 7th-place Rams improved to 35-35.
