The Canonniers de Quebec got a superb performance from pitcher Tom Woods. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Amarillo. The Submarinos won the game, 1-0. In spite of the loss, Woods was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. The Submarinos improved to 29-29.
It could have been a different outcome for Amarillo, had it not been for Chong-hun Cho, the 20-year old center fielder . Cho contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Amarillo up, 1-0.
"Credit where credit is due," said Cho, "this was a team win."
