Northern Lions BC Lose to Cattlemen, 5-2
|
It was a fun time at The Cattle Pen, where the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and Ft. Worth Cattlemen tangled.
Ft. Worth Cattlemen starter Armando Romano was in fine form against the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at The Cattle Pen, leading his team to a 5-2 win. Romano, now 6-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Jack Buyse picked up the save for Ft. Worth, his 5th of the year.
Kolby Hay, who is tied for 4th in the SL in runs scored with 31, contributed to the Ft. Worth win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
The third-place Cattlemen improved to 24-21.
