Beavers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Interns
|
The Northwest Territory Beavers picked up a win at Beaver Town, knocking off the Capital Hill Interns, 5-4. On the mound for Northwest Territory was right-hander Warren Cully, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win was Júlio Japón's in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Carlos Cardenas took the loss for Capital Hill. With the win over Capital Hill, the Beavers improved to 29-19.
Zach Stafford hit a run-scoring triple off Carlos Cardenas in the bottom of the ninth, which put the Beavers in front, 5-4. Stafford had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Stafford said.
