Victory Over Baby Lakers Takes Greenport to 24-13
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 19-year old first baseman Kazuki Takahashi, the Greenport Harbor Whales stopped the Bompton Baby Lakers, 3-2. Getting the save was Poom Saksansin, his 6th. Greenport is now 24-13, 2½ games up in the Menard's R.
Had Cor van Capelleveen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, van Capelleveen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Harbor Whales.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," van Capelleveen said.
