Moose Jaw got a terrific game from center fielder Arnie Birand. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Montgomery, 6-5. Birand was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Richard Tipton got the save, his 11th in 12 chances. The losing streak for Moose Jaw has now reached 6 games.
Montgomery took the lead in the top of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, Stanislov Navashin stroked a run-scoring single to make it 5-4, Biscuits.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Montgomery manager Félix Cruz.
